Abstract (2. Language):
Parents disciplinary practices may play an important role in children's life and behaviors. The word discipline is synonymous with an orderly life and it helps children to spend their life as happy and safe. Discipline and punishment are generally perceived as the same things. In fact discipline covers all the methods which help to behavior change. Punishment should not be used in children, because punishment methods may lead to child abuse and, physical and psychological damage against children. Generally abusive parents use punishment techniques for child's disciplinary practices. The battered child syndrome, a behavioral deviation exposing children to harmful, non-accidental and preventable physical treatment of person or people who are responsible to look after them which prevents their physical and psycosocial development and conflicts with the cultural values of the society, is style of great importance today as an undissolved humanity problem. Traditionally punishment and abusive practices which may be accepted widely in the society is an important problem. This study is planned, to underline the seriousness and importance of this topic and to take attention of related people.
