Abstract (2. Language):
Because the organizational effects of sex steroids on digit development, it is suggested that there must be some relations between digit ratios (2D:4D) and other body characters that under the influence of sex steroids. This study sought to investigate the relationship between sexually dimorphic anthropometric characters and 2D:4D. These relationships were investigated on 240 students studying at the Cumhuriyet University, Sivas, Turkey. In addition to digits, weight, height, leg length, shoulder, hip, elbow, foot, knee width, upper arm circumference, calf circumference, foot length, triceps, biceps, subscapular, supraspinale, and calf skinfold measurements were taken from individuals. Results indicate individuals of both sexes have masculine body also have lower 2D:4D, whereas individuals have feminine body have higher 2D:4D. These findings suggest that not only adolescence sex steroids levels, but also prenatal sex steroids effect on structure of the adult body.
