As well as her geostrategic location inherited by the Cold War, with the successfully built and long lasting energy cooperation, Turkey is in a suitable position of being a natural bridge among the supplier and net energy importer countries of the global energy market. With the document Energy Strategy, Turkey officially aims to be one of the energy terminals of the global energy market that brings much active role in a wider region to herself by using her present geostrategic location in a much efficient way. The study you will read (this study) claims that beyond the potential promotions in terms of energy or regional politics, the achievements in the instrumentalization of energy projects under the ascendant role of one country would lend assistance to increase that country’s very own soft power capacity among the all participants. In order to test this claim the energy relations set by Turkey with Kazakhstan, which is quite likely to participate in projects in which Turkey would have an active role to carry out, will be evaluated as a case study.

Soğuk Savaş’tan miras kalan jeostratejik konumunun yanı sıra, başarılı bir şekilde kurmuş olduğu uzun süreli enerji işbirlikleriyle Türkiye, küresel enerji piyasasına enerji kaynaklarını arz eden ülkeler ile net enerji kaynağı ithalatçısı ülkeler arasında da doğal bir köprü olmak için uygun konumda bulunmaktadır. 2011 yılında yayınlanan Enerji Stratejisi Belgesi ile Türkiye, mevcut jeostratejik konumunu daha verimli bir şekilde kullanarak, kendisine uluslararası alanda çok daha geniş bir bölgede ve de etkin bir rol kazandıracak, küresel enerji piyasasının merkezlerinden biri olmayı resmen hedef edinmiştir. Okuyacağınız çalışma bir ülkenin enerji projelerini başarılı bir şekilde araçsallaştırmasının, ülkeye enerji ve bölge politikalarında daha aktif bir konum sağlamanın ötesinde, katılımcı diğer ülkeler nazarındaki yumuşak gücünü de arttırabileceğini varsaymaktadır. Bu varsayımın sınanması için seçilen örneklemde ise Türkiye’nin gerçekleştirilmesinde etkin rol almak istediği uluslararası enerji projelerine katılması kuvvetle muhtemel ülkelerden Kazakistan ile kurmuş olduğu enerji ilişkilerin Türkiye’nin yumuşak gücüne etkisi değerlendirilecektir.
