Consultation studies has an important place in guidance services. Consultation studies are carried out by school counselors with student-related persons, such as managers, teachers and parents, to contribute to the physical, mental, emotional and social development of students. Guidance services based on cooperation are presented to planning and implementing strategies pertaining to the problem situations in the consultation process. Within the context of consultation studies, it is aimed to establish a common guiding mentality on the sides through the interaction with the student-related persons and to use the available resources in accordance with this understanding. In addition, consultation studies provide a holistic approach to understanding the needs and problems of the students in various areas. In this study addressed how school counselors can construct the consultation process, the skills they need to have and the consultation models they can use.

Okul psikolojik danışma ve rehberlik çalışmaları kapsamında yürütülen konsültasyon (müşavirlik) çalışmalarının rehberlik hizmetleri içerisinde önemli bir yeri vardır. Okul psikolojik danışmanlarınca yürütülen konsültasyon çalışmaları, öğrencilerin bedensel, zihinsel, duygusal ve sosyal yönden gelişmelerine katkı sağlamak amacıyla yöneticiler, öğretmenler ve ebeveynler gibi öğrenciyle ilgili kişilerle stratejiler geliştirmeye ve planlamaya dönük, işbirliğine dayalı çalışmaların yapıldığı rehberlik hizmetlerindendir. Konsültasyon çalışmaları kapsamında öğrenciyle ilgili kişilerle kurulan etkileşimler sayesinde taraflarda ortak bir rehberlik anlayışı oluşturmak amaçlanmakta ve mevcut kaynaklar bu anlayışa uygun olarak kullanılmaktadır. Ayrıca okul yöneticisi, öğretmenler ve ebeveynlerle yürütülen konsültasyon çalışmaları, öğrencinin çeşitli alanlardaki ihtiyaç ve sorunlarını anlamak için bütüncül bir yaklaşım sunmakta, pozitif okul iklimini geliştirmeye yardımcı olmakta, öğrencinin yaşamında anlamlı rollere sahip bu yetişkinlerin ebeveynlik ve öğretimle ilgili etkili stratejiler geliştirmelerine olanak sağlamaktadır. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada, okul psikolojik danışmanlarının konsültasyon sürecini nasıl yapılandırabileceklerine, bu konuda sahip olmaları gereken becerilere, yararlanabilecekleri konsültasyon modellerine yer verilmiştir.
