In this study pentaerythrityl tetrabromide has been used as the source of the spiro-carbon atom. A new tetraaldyde has been produced which can then undergo cyclisation with diamine functionalities via metaltemplate Schiff-base condensation using group XII metal ions, to give a dinuclear complexes of the spiroligand. Cadmium(II) or zinc(II) complexes of N3O2 and N2O2 donor macrobicyclic ligands were characterized by IR, 1H NMR and mass spectral studies.

Bu çalışmada spiro-karbon atomu kaynağı olarak pentaeritril tetrabromür kullanılarak yeni bir tetra aldehit sentezlenmiş ve bu tetraaldehitin, bazı diamin bileşikleri ile metal-templat olarak XII. grup metal iyonlarının çeşitli tuzları kullanılarak Schiff-baz kondensasyonuyla binükleer kompleksleri elde edilmiştir. Bu elde edilen N3O2 ve N2O2 donor setli, makro çift halkalı ligantların Cd(II) ve Zn(II) komplekslerinin yapıları IR, kütle spektrumu ve 1H NMR ile aydınlatılmaya çalışılmıştır.
