Variety of data in health care services provides the development of different applications. These applications could be developed either under different programming languages or platforms. These applications could be developed either on different programming languages or platforms. XML Web services provide data transfer through applications that have been developed on different programming languages and different platforms. Data transfer was realized between the Oracle database belonging to Laboratory Information System (LIS) and the SQL Server database belonging to the Hospital Information System (HIS) in the real hospital environment. Communications of applications that have been developed on different platforms and programming languages were provided as a result of this transaction. Thus, applications that use XML Web services was provided to be low cost, high quality and fast.

Sağlık hizmetlerinde verinin çeşitliliği farklı uygulamaların geliştirilmesini sağlamıştır. Bu uygulamalar farklı programlama dillerinde veya farklı platformlarda geliştirilmiştir. XML Web servisleri farklı programlama dillerinde geliştirilmiş, farklı platformlarda çalışabilen uygulamaların birbirleri ile veri transferinde bulunabilmelerini sağlar. Gerçek hastane ortamında laboratuvar bölümünde kullanılan laboratuvar bilgi yönetim sistemine (LBYS) ait ORACLE veri tabanı ile hastanenin diğer bölümlerinde kullanılan hastane bilgi yönetim sistemine (HBYS) ait SQL SERVER veri tabanı arasında veri transferi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu işlem sonucunda farklı platformlarda ve programlama dillerinde geliştirilen uygulamaların haberleşmesi sağlanmıştır. Böylelikle XML Web servislerini kullanan uygulamaların düşük maliyetli, kaliteli, hızlı, olması sağlanmıştır.
