Abstract (2. Language):
This paper analyzes the relationship between religiosity and terror. The variables used in the research have been measured via analytic surveys conducted in a field study on regions where terror is a major problem. In the paper, first, we define the concepts of religiosity, terror and terrorism in theoretical perspective; describe the variables and factors within the scope of research methodology and we justify selection of daily prayers as an indicator of religiosity. In the findings, we analyze the interaction of unifying (Belonging to the State and Social Cohesion) and separating (Ethic Discrimination and Support for PKK-Ocalan) factors with the independent variable of religiosity. The results indicate that, within the scope of our research, higher levels of religiosity leads to lower support for terror and lower support for the idea of Turkish-Kurdish separation.
