Abstract (2. Language):
The quality of school life has been considered as an indicator of general well-being and it has been held as a well-being situation which has derived from children's integration with school life. The fact that children spend their years at school, it can be clearly seen how the quality of school life is an important issue. Pupils' positive school experiences, which have been emphasized as a preparation for their future social life are matters of considerable interest for educators and researchers. Research shows that, school satisfaction has positive effects on children's acceptance of the school and its educational values and on their motivations of academic achievement. On the other hand, there are evidences that, school dissatisfaction has a positive correlation with behavioral disorders and with low academic achievement and it leads to results such as students'alienation of school. Although it has been examined frequently in the other countries, in Turkey, there are very few studies which investigated the topic of quality of school life as a whole. The purpose of this study is to define the concept of quality of school life, to introduce it's variables in the school settings and to introduce the measurements of quality of school life in the light of literature. Besides of instruments which were used in measurement of quality of school life as a whole, instruments which were developed to evaluate the classroom environment quality have been investigated.
