Abstract (2. Language): 
Songs have been considered as instructional materials after the innovations and changes in education program recently. Songs make students both learn and enjoy in the classroom. Students can acquire language skills easily by means of songs. With this respect, the aim this study is to determine students’ views towards the effectiveness of songs in foreign language skills. The role of songs in developing listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar is tried to be determined through the study. As a survey method, the working group of study includes students in Anatolian High Schools in Elazığ. A questionnaire developed by researchers in the light of experts’ views was used in the study. SPSS Program was used in analysing the collected data. Study results indicate that songs can develop listening skills effectively by helping intensive and extensive listening.

Şarkılar özellikle son zamanlarda eğitim programındaki yenilik ve değişmeler kapsamında öğrencileri hem eğlendirmek hem de verimli öğrenme sonuçları oluşturmak için yaygın bir şekilde dil öğretiminde kullanılan öğretim materyalleri arasına girmiştir. Şarkılar yardımıyla dil becerileri etkili bir şekilde öğrencilere kazandırılabilir. Bu bağlamda, çalışmanın amacı yabancı dil öğretiminde şarkıların dil becerilerini geliştirmedeki etkililiğini belirlemektir. Bu amaçla şarkıların yabancı dil öğretiminde dinleme, konuşma, okuma, yazma gibi dört temel dil becerisini ve telaffuz, kelime öğretimi ve dilbilgisi gibi alt becerileri geliştirmedeki rolü belirlenmeye çalışılmaktadır. Araştırmada, tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubunu, Elazığ il merkezindeki Anadolu liselerinde okuyan öğrenciler oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından uzman görüşleri desteğiyle geliştirilen anket kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS Paket Programı uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerden şarkıların kapsamlı ve yoğun dinleme sağlayarak dinleme becerilerini geliştirdiği söylenebilir.
