Abstract (2. Language):
The researcher has found that the time use of the principal characterized by activities of short duration which are highly varied in function and which change with great frequency throughout the day. According to findings which were collected using the technic of observation, the three functions of principal which devoted his time. The most were general management, planning and walking around, respectively. The least ones were meeting with superiors, self education and the activities such as school and environment.

İlköğretimde görev yapan bir okul müdürü yaklaşık bir sömestr gözlemlenmiş; görev ve sorumluluklarıyla yaptığı etkinliklerin ne derecede örtüştüğü saptanmaya çalışılmıştır. Gözlem tekniği kullanılarak elde edilen bulgulara göre müdürün en fazla zaman ayırdığı üç yönetim işlevi genel yönetim, planlama, gezinti; en az ise üst yönetim, kendini yetiştirme ve okul-çevre ilişkileri gibi etkinlikler olduğu saptanmıştır.
