Abstract (2. Language):
Middle class has been the interest of social sciences such as sociology, history and politics. With better understanding of the significance of the middle class, science of economics has been interested in it. Nevertheless, this issue has still not been fully comprehended. To fill the gap, in this study a theoretical analysis has been made on the economic significance of the middle class. Strong and wide middle class is an important component of many developed countries. Its skill of entrepreneurship, qualified demand, and human capital can have a great role in the improvement process. As middle class is defined according to the criteria such as profession and education by other disciplines; in terms of economy, the income is the most used criteria. However, there is not a consensus about the income of the middle class.
