A case of non-Hodgkin lymphoma with chest wall involvement

Abstract (2. Language):
Primary tumors of the chest wall are very rare. We herein report a very
rare case of non-Hodgkin lymphoma presenting with a solitary chest wall
mass. A 52-year-old female patient admitted to our hospital because of an
abnormality detected on her chest X-ray during the preoperative evaluation
for surgical therapy of femur fracture. On physical examination, a 10x7 cm
sized, immobile, irregular mass involving the 6.-8. ribs on posterior chest
wall was detected. Chest computerized tomography demonstrated a mass
invading also the muscles on the chest wall. The histopathological examination of the tru-cut biopsy specimen obtained from the mass was reported
as diffuse large B cell lymphoma. The patient received systemic chemotherapy and local radiotherapy. She is still being followed up with no evidence
of active disease 22 months after the initial diagnosis.

Primer göğüs duvarı tümörleri seyrektir. Burada soliter göğüs duvarı tümörü
ile ortaya çıkan nadir bir non-Hodgkin lenfoma olgusunu sunduk. Elli iki
yaşında bayan hasta hastanemize patolojik femur kırığına yönelik yapılacak
olan cerrahi tedaviye hazırlık sırasında çekilen direkt akciğer grafisindeki
anormallikle başvurdu. Fizik muayenede, göğüs arka duvarında, 6.-8. kotları
tutan, 10x7 cm boyutlarında, hareketsiz, düzensiz kitle saptandı. Toraks bilgisayarlı tomografisinde göğüs duvarında kasları da invaze eden kitle izlendi. Kitleden alınan tru-cut biyopsinin histopatolojik inceleme sonucu diffüz
büyük B hücreli lenfoma olarak rapor edildi. Hastaya sistemik kemoterapi
ve lokal radyoterapi uygulandı. Hasta tanı sonrası 22. ayda izlenmekte olup,
hastalıkla ilgili aktif bir durum görülmedi.
