Abstract (2. Language):
Objective: In this study, incidence of rubella and CMV antibodies have been investigated in risk groups including childbearing age's women. Material and Methods: IgM and IgG antibodies against Cytomegalovirus and Rubella were tested by ELISA (Organon) kits. Results: While rubella IgM antibodies was found positive in 0.3% percent of tested serum samples, positivity for rubella IgG antibodies was 88%. The positivities of the serum samples for CMV IgM and CMV IgG were 0.4% and 94%, respectively. Conclusions: It was concluded that susceptible candidates of pregnancy should be educated about prevention and control of CMV and rubella infections and that following up the patients can decrease the risk of congenital abnormalities.
