Abstract (2. Language): 
This paper focuses on whether placing an alternative type of variable on the time series models improves the aut-of-sample forecasting performance of these models. The hew variable analysed here is based on the business cycle chareste-ristics of Turkish GNP, and in particular, requires that the dynamic behavior of the time series model mimic the business cycle charracteristics of historical data.

Bu çalışma Zaman serisi modellerine alternatif bir değişkenin yerleştirilme­siyle gözlem dışı tahmin performansındaki artışları incelenmeye çalışmaktadır. Ye­ni değişken Türk GSMH sındaki mevsim etkilerine dayalıdır ve kısmi olarak zaman serisi modellerinin geçmiş verilerine/eki mevsim etkisi karakteristiğini yansıtmak­tadır.
