Prof. Dr. Amıran Kurtkan Bilgiseven is one of the most important sociologs in Turkey in recent times. She was one of the academic staffs of Istanbul University, Faculy of Economics. She loved the knowledge and spent her life for academic searches in compliance with her surname, Bilgiseven. She wrote many academical works and trained many students. She paid an extra attention to her students teaching them research methods and techniques. She integrated religion and science. She attached importance to cultural and spiritual values. She always-wanted that the origin and spirit is understood correctly. She has mostly written on education which is the impulsive force of development in her works. We lost our teacher at 19th of June 2005 who I am proud of being her student. May God have mercy on her.

Prof. Dr. Amİran Kurtkan Bilgiseven son devrin önemli Türk sosyologlarındandır. İstanbul Üniversitesi İktisat Fakültesi Öğretim üyesiydi. Soyadtııa uygun bir şekilde bilgiyi sevmiş ve Ömrünü bilim yolunda harcamıştır. Çok sayıda eser yazmış ve Öğrenci yetiştirmiştir. Öğrencilerine bilimsel araştırma ve metotlarını öğretmeye Özen göstermiştir. İlim ile dini bütünieştirmiştir. Kültürel ve manevi değerlere büyük önem vermiştir. İslâmiyet'in özünün ve ruhunun iyi anlaşılmasını istemiştir. Kalkınmanın itici gücü olan eğitime eserlerinde geniş yer vermiştir. Öğrencisi olmakla şeref duyduğum hocamızı 19 Haziran 2005 'te kaybettik. Kendisini rahmet ve saygıyla anıyoruz.
