In this study in which the imipenem resistance in natural isolates was searched, totally 1279 bacteria were studied and among the isolates 168 of tem (13.13%) were found to have imipenem resistance. The distribution of resistance in species are 22.98% in Pseudomonas sp., 16.6% in Acinetobacter sp., 2.21% in Klebsiella sp., 1.15 % in E.coli and 2.83% coliforms (Unidentified) respectively. Among the sewage isolates; the highest resistance was found to be in Acinetobacter sp., (100%) and no resistance in Enterobacter sp., was detected. The highest β-lactamase production was detected in Pseudomonas sp., (100%) isolated from soil and lowest was found to be E.coli (4.6%) isolated from sewage.

Doğal izolatlarda imipenem (Tienam) dirençliliğinin araştırıldığı bu çalışmada toplam 1279 bakteri ile çalışılmış ve izolatlardan 168’inin (%13.13) imipeneme dirençli oldukları belirlenmiştir. Dirençliliğin cinslere göre dağılımı ise Pseudomonas sp.,’de %22.98, Acinetobacter sp.,’de %16.6, Klebsiella sp.,’de %2.21, Escherichia coli’de (E.coli) %1.15 ve koliformlarda (tiplendirilemeyen) %2.83 şeklindedir. Kanalizasyon izolatlarında en yüksek sıklıkta dirençlilik Acinetobacter sp.,de (%100) gözlenirken Enterobacter sp.,de dirençlilik saptanamamıştır (%100 hassas). Toprak izolatlarında sadece Pseudomonas sp.,de dirençlilik (%9.55) saptanmış diğer izolatlarda ise (Acinetobacter sp., Klebsiella sp., ve Proteus mirabilis) dirençlilik saptanamamıştır. İzolatlar arasında β-laktamaz üretimi en yüksek düzeyde topraktan izole edilen Pseudomonas sp.,de (%100) saptanırken en düşük oran kanalizasyondan izole edilen E.coli’de (%4.6) bulunmuştur.
