An Ionic capital kept in the Milas museum garden is an important example with its once partly painted details which are a Lesbian cymatium on the abacus faces and an Ionic cymatium on the echinus faces. The corner palmettes also were probably painted on the capital and trails of paint on abacus and echinus are still visible. There is not an exact parallel for this convex capital but the proportions and the details help us date it around the second quarter of the 5th century B.C. The similarities with Athenian examples and especially the painted details may indicate an Athenian influence. The size and general appearance make one think of belonging to a monumental structure and not to a votive column. It seems likely to find more members of the same or the structure itself during the future research at Mylasa.

Milas müzesi bahçesinde sergilenilen bir İon başlığı orijinalinde taşımış olduğu boya bezemeleri ile oldukça önemli bir örnektir. Abakus cephesinde Lesbos kymationu, ekhinus cephesinde ise İon kymationu bezemelerinin bulunduğunu gösteren boya izleri kısmen korunmuştur. Kabaca şekillendirilmiş köşe palmetlerinin de detaylarının boya ile verilmiş olduğu büyük bir olasılıktır. Dışbükey cephe düzenlemeli bu başlığın tam bir paraleli bulunmamakla birlikte başlığın oranlamaları ve bazı detay özellikleri MÖ 5.yy ikinci çeyreği içerisine tarihlenebileceğine işaret etmektedir. Atina örnekleri ile görülen paralellikler ve özellikle de Atina’da sık karşılaşılan boya bezemelerin varlığı Atina etkisine işaret etmektedir. Başlığın ölçüleri ve genel görünümü bir adak sütununa değil anıtsal bir yapıya ait olabileceğini düşündürmekle birlikte ilişkili bir yapı kalıntısı Mylasa’da tespit edilememiştir. İleride yapılacak araştırmalarda bu dönemden daha fazla mimari eleman örneği ve muhtemelen de yapı kalıntılarının bulunabileceği muhtemeldir.
