Abstract (2. Language):
Growing interest among the Police Academy graduates in learning a foreign language has led to reconsideration of the research findings and the conclusions based on the analysis and interpretation of the data collected through a questionnaire designed particu-larly for identification of motive types for language study at the Police Academy.** A thor-ough analysis and interpretation of the data provided the researcher with statistically sig-nificant findings in order to arrive at specific motive types for language study. The research shows that willingness to learn may indicate a valuable motivation type. However, there may also be lack of real motivation underlying endeavours to learn. This article, therefore, will mainly focus on the identification of motives and deal with the problem of lack of motivation in general to propose solution to possible problems associated with learning styles and strategies for successful learning.
