Fizikte enerji nasıl temel bir kavramsa sosyal bilimlerde de güç öylesine vazgeçilmez bir olgudur (1). Bernard Russel'a ait olan bu cümle birçok iktisatçıdan belki de Rus-sel'in kendisine olan inancından daha fazlasını açıklamaktadır (2). Marx'a karşılık Russell «birey'in kendi çıkarlarının sosyal bilimlerde temel itişim olmadığına güç elde edebilmek için ortaya çıkan eğilimin ve tutkunun sosyal olay larm açıklamasını yapan önemli etmenler olduğuna» inanmaktadır. (3) Russel ve Marx'a karşılık bende güç'ün sosyal bilimler içinde karar verici temel nitelikteki bir motivasyon olayı olarak değil birey'in ekonomik yararlarını gerçekleştirmede araç olarak görmekte ve ayni zamanda mülkiyet dağılımından farklı bir biçimde uygulanacağı düşüncesindeyim.
