This study has been carried out to investigate the views of the families of lower socio-economic class in Muğla about making their children do sport.
The study was carried out with 30 families of lower socio-economic class who live in Saburhane District in Muğla. The survey questionaire developed by the researcher was applied by face to face interviewing the participants. The data gathered in the research was evaluated with a pecentage calculation.
As a result, it has been found out that the families have a positive idea about their children’s doing sport, their financial condition is a negative factor in doing the sport their children want to do, they support the idea that their daughters should do sport in appropriate clothes, and they know that sport is good for their children’s health, but they do not believe they can contribute to their training.

Bu araştırma Muğla ilinde alt sosyo-ekonomik grupta yer alan ailelerin çocuklarına spor yaptırma düşüncelerinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Araştırma Muğla İli Saburhane mahallesinde ikamet eden, alt gelir gurubuna mensup 30 aile ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen anket, denekler ile yüz yüze görüşülerek uygulanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulguların değerlendirilmesinde yüzde hesaplaması yapılmıştır.
Sonuç olarak; ailelerin çocuklarının spor yapmaları konusunda olumlu düşüncelere sahip oldukları, çocuklarının istedikleri sporu yapması konusunda maddi güçlerinin olumsuz bir etken oluşturduğu, kız çocukların uygun kıyafetlerle spor yapmalarını destekledikleri, çocuklarının sağlığı için sporun yararlı olduğunu bildikleri ancak eğitimlerine katkıda bulunabileceğine inanmadıkları ortaya çıkmıştır.
