Investigation of demographic, economic and psychococial characteristick of the students of Süleyman Demirel Üniversty

Abstract (2. Language):
University students are at the ages of 18-24 which is the end of the adolescence period. It is aimed to investigate the behaviours and the actions of the students who are somatically and psychologically interacting each other. A questionnaire with the tech-nigue of illustrating without probability was carried out on 712 (%6.3) of the 11338 students who are studying in the faculties and institute of Süleyman Demirel University in İsparta. 378 (%53.1) of the students were male and 334 (%46.9) of them were female. 667 (%93.7) of the students were attending to 1-4 classes and 584 (%82) of them were born in between the years 1975-1979. It was found that the average weights of the male and female students, who were at the ages of 17-26(+), were 70.74 kg and 54.9 kg and the average heights of them were 177.4 cm and 162.9 cm. There was an important statistical difference between the average weights and heights of the male and female students (tl: 15.7 t2:4.7,p<0.05). 454 (%63.8) of the students graduated from high school, 172 (%24.2) of them graduated from high schools for profession and 86 (%12.1) of them graduated from other high schools. According to the proportions of the economical developments of the cities 294 (%41.3) of the students were from İsparta and its equals,49 (%6.9) of them were from less developed cities and 363 (%51) of them were from more developed cities. 493 (%69.2) of the students were providing their monthly incomes from their families, 50 (%7) of them by working, 133 (%18.7) of them from their families and scholarship whereas 9 (%1.3) of them were providing only from scholarship. 446 (%62.5) of the students thought that their incomes were adequate and 266 (%37.2) of them thought that they were inadequate. The factors affecting the students psychosocial^ were these; social environment 286 (%27.3), being away from home 163 (%15.4), monetary 163 (%15.4), educational 143 (%13.5), local 136 (%12.8), accommodation 81 (% 7.6) and others 84 (%7.9). Under these condition success of the 62 (%8.7) of the students was very good, 278 (%39) of them was good, 280 (% 39.3) of them was normal, 64 (%9) of them was bad and 26 (%3.7) of them was very bad.

Üniversite öğrencisi adolesan çağın 18-24 yaşları olan geç döneminde bulunur. Somatik ve psikolojik etkileşim içinde olan üniversite öğrencilerinin tutum ve davranışlarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Mayıs 1998'de Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi' nin İsparta kentindeki fakülte ve yüksek okullarında okuyan 11338 öğrenciden 712 (%6.3) sine olasılıksız örnekleme yöntemi ile anket uygulanmıştır. Ankete katılan öğrencilerin 378 (%53.1) i erkek, 334 (%46.9) ü kız idi. Öğrencilerin 667 (%93.7) si 1.-4. sınıflarda okuyan ve 584 (% 82,0) ü 1975-1979 doğumlular oluşturmaktadır. Ankete giren 17 - 26 (+) yaş erkek ve kız öğrencilerin ortalama ağırlığı 70.74 kg, 54.9 kg ve ortalama boy uzunlukları 177.4 cm, 162.9 cm bulundu. Erkekler ile kızların ağırlık ve boy uzunlukları arasında istatistiksel yönden önemli bir fark vardı (tl: 15.7 t2:4.7, p<0.05). Öğrencilerin 454 (% 63.8) i lise, 172 (% 24.2) si meslek lisesi ve 86 (%12.1)sı diğer liselerden mezun idi. Öğrencilerin geldikleri illerin ekonomik gelişmişliğine göre oranları 294 (% 41.3) ü İsparta ye dengi illerden, 49 (% 6.9) u daha düşük, 363 (% 51.0) ü daha gelişmiş illerden idi. Öğrenciler aylık gelirlerini 493 (% 69.2) ü ailesinden, 9 (% 1.3) u sadece kredi/burstan yararlanırken, 50 (% 7) si çalışarak, 133 (% 18.7) ü aile + kredi/burstan sağlıyor. Gelirini yeterli bulan 446 (% 62.5) ve yeterli bulmayan 266 (% 37.2) idi. Öğrencileri psikososyal yönden etkileyen faktörler; sosyal çevre 286 (% 27.3), aileden ayrılık 163 (% 15.4), parasal 163 (% 15.4), eğitime bağlı 143 (% 13.5), yöresel 136 (% 12.8), konaklama 81 (% 7.6) ve diğer 84 (% 7.9) idi. Bu koşullarda öğrencilerin başarı durumları; 62(%8.7) si çok iyi, 278(%39.0) i iyi, 280(%39.3) i orta, 64(%9.0) ü zayıf ve 26(%3.7) sı fena olduğu görüldü.
