Although nocardia infections are well known in transplanted patients all over the world, it seems ra¬rely in Turkey. Due to increasing number of trans¬planted patients in abroad in recent years, it seems possible te encounter this infection. In this article nocardia abscess in the lower extremity has been presented and tried to take nocardiosis into consideration especially in patients transplanted in foreign countries.

Nocardia enfeksiyonu tüm dünyada oldukça iyi bilinmesine kargın ülkemizde oldukça nadirdir. Son yıllarda giderek artan sayıda dış ülkede transplantasyon yapılmış hastalar olması nedeniyle, önümüzdeki yıllarda daha da sıklaşacağı kanısındayız. Bu makalede, alt ekstremitede saptanan bir nocardia olgusu sunulmuş ve bu fırsat ile özellikle dış ülkelerde trans¬plantasyon yapılmış olgularda nocardiozise dikkat çekilmek istenmiştir.
