Abstract: Alzheimer's disease is a progressive degenerative dementia, which appears with intellectual deterioration with neu-ropsychiatic/behavioral disturbances and are impaired daily living activities. Most of these patients live at home and are taken care of by their relatives. The physical, social and financial problems perceived by the caregivers are identified as 'caregiver burden'. These caregivers are often not ready for this burden and doctors can use a structured approach to ease the burden and increase the quality of life of both sides. The parts of this structured approach includes negotiating alliance with family, explaining cognitive symptoms to family, talking about safety points (self, home safety issues and reorganization of the environment), achieving self hygiene and health issues and, dealing with psy-chopathologic symptoms to support the caregivers. Team-work is necessary to manage handling the cognitive and non-cognitive symptoms of the patient in which a doctor must be assigned as a member. In this review we aimed to discuss the present strategic approaches to challenge with the non-cognitive symptoms in Alzheimer disease.

Alzheimer hastalığı , entelektüel işlevlerin gerilemesi, çeşitli nörop-sikiyatrik davranış rahatsızlıkları ve günlük yaşam etkinliklerini bozan ilerleyici dejeneratif bir bunamadır. Bu hastaların büyük bir bölümü evde yaşar ve yakınlarınca bakılır. Hastaların bakımını üstlenen aile üyelerinin yaşadığı fiziksel, ruhsal, toplumsal ve mali sorunlar 'hasta yakını yükü' olarak tanımlanır. Bakıcılar, üstlenmek zorunda kaldıkları bu yüke, sıklıkla hazırlıksız yakalanmaktadırlar. Doktor, hasta yakınının yükünü azaltmak ve her iki tarafın yaşam kalitesini yükseltmek için yapılandırılmış bir yaklaşım kullanabilir. Bu yapılandırılmış yaklaşımın öğeleri; hasta ve yakını ile bir ittifak oluşturmak, bilişsel belirtilerin aileye açıklanması, güvenlik konularının tartışılması (kişisel güvenlik, ev güvenliği ve çevrenin düzenlenmesi), bedensel hijyen ve tıbbi bakımın düzenlenmesi, psikopatolojik belirtilerle başa çıkılması ve bakıcılara destekten oluşmaktadır. içinde, hekimin de yer alacağı bir takım, bilişsel ve bilişsel olmayan belirtilerle daha iyi baş edebilir. Bu yazı, Alzheimer hastalığında görülen bilişsel olmayan belirtilerle başa çıkabilmek için gerekli güncel stratejik yaklaşımları tartışmaktadır.
