City of Bursa was conquered by The Ottomans in 1326 and built a marketplace out of citadel. Mainly this marketplace has been formed till the end of 16’th century and in general this macroform sustained as a sufficient place for the actors of marketplace for nearly 3,5 centuries. But beginning with a great fire in 1958, also factors of rapid population growth and technological change were forced to reshape this macroform. Our aim is to show how fractal dimensions can be used to measure the sprawling around this macroform.

Bursa 1326 yılında Osmanlılar tarafından fethedilmiş ve fethin ardından kent surları dışında bir çarşı kurgusu oluşmuştur. Temelde, çarşı bölgesi, 16.yüzyılda özgün formuna ulaşmış kullanıcılar ve mekan sahiplerinden oluşan aktörler için yaklaşık 3.5 yüzyıl yeterli denebilecek bir performans ile hizmet vermiştir. Ancak 1958 yılında yaşanan büyük yangın ile birlikte tetiklenen değişim aynı zamanda nüfusun artması ve teknolojik gelişmelerin etkisi sonucunda, mevcut çarşı formunun-dokusunun morfolojik farklılıklar göstermesi sebebini doğurmuştur. Bu çalışmadaki temel amaç; tarihi süreçte değişim gösteren çarşı morfolojisindekidokusundaki lekesel saçılmaların fraktal boyut bağlamında ele alınarak çıkan sonuçlar doğrultusunda değerlendirilerek incelenmesi olmuştur.
