Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of the present study was to study the experience with Bone Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA) in Uludağ University. Four patients who underwent BAHA surgery and completed one year of follow-up were analyzed retrospectively. One of the patients was in pediatric age group and operated due to aural atresia, remaining three patients were adult and operated due to chronic otitis media. Preoperative air conduction level was 60 ± 5 dB and bone conduction threshold was 13± 9 dB. Postoperative soundfield BAHA threshold was 17±9 dB. In one year of follow-up only a minor skin reaction was encountered. Patients were highly satisfied with their BAHA. Although the number of patients was low, the results of the BAHA were encouraging.
