Abstract (2. Language):
In the Turkish population, prevalence of CVD and deaths related to this are higher than western society. Recently, state of various risk agent factors that is related to CVD in our population has been determined. However, there is no systematic study and data about state of adipokin levels in healty adults and CVD patients. In our study, we have purposed to measure levels of adipokines on healthy adults and angio patients and to analyse the relationship between CVD and these levels. 243 healthy subjects who are between 18-45 years old and 101 angio patients who was operated on coronary angiography have been included in the study. Gensini scores were determined in CVD patients. Serum levels of leptin and resistin, in CVD group were higher (p<0.05, p<0.01, respectively) and adiponectin levels were lower (p<0.01) than the observed values for healthy adults. There was no significant difference between adiponectin, leptin and resistin levels of as the basis of Gensini scores. Serum levels of leptin and adiponectin, in females were higher (p<0.001) than the observed values for males. These changes in adipokine levels may contribute to high prevalence in Turkish population expecially in males.
