COMPRARING TEACHER CANDIDATES' COMPUTER ACHIEVEMENTS AND ATTITUDES TOWARDS COMPUTER BASED EDUCATION ACCORDING TO THEIR LEARNING MODALITY

In this study, teacher candidates' computer achievements and attitudes towards computer based education were compared with respect to their learning modalities. To determine learning modality, BIG 16 Learning Modality Inventory was used. Firstly, an attitude scale towards computer based education (BDE-TO) was used for pretest. Then, basic computer topics were taught during three months, and BDE-TO was used again for posttest. Also, a test was given to teacher candidates' after the courses to determine their computer achievements. At the end of the study it was revealed that visual learners' posttest attitudes are significantly higher than pretest scores (z=2.029, p<.05). In addition, there was positive correlation between teacher candidates' computer achievements and the attitudes of computer based education (0.646,p<.05).

Bu araftirmada, ogretmen adaylarinin ogrenme bifemlerine gore bilgisayar destekli egitim tutumlan ve bilgisayar ba§arilari kar§ilapmlmi§tir Ogretmen adaylarinin ogrenme bifemlerini belirlemek amaciyla BIG 16 Ogrenme Bifemleri Envanteri, bilgisayar destekli egitime yonelik tutumlarini belirlemek amaciyla da Bilgisayar Destekli Egitim Tutum Olfegi (BDE-TO) kullanilmiftir. Ilk olarak ogrencilere BDE-TO ontest olarak uygulanmi§, daha sonra 3 ay boyunca temel bilgisayar konulari anlatilmifir. Uygulama sonunda, ogrencilere BDE-TO sontest olarak tekrar verilmif ve bilgisayar ba§arilarini belirlemek amaciyla bilgisayar ba§ari testi uygulanmifir. Ara§tirma sonucunda, gorselagirlikli ogrenme bifemine sahip ogretmen adaylarinin BDE-TO sontest puanlari, ontest puanlarindan anlamli bir §ekilde yuksek bulunmufiur (%=2.029, p<.05). Ayni §ekilde, gorsel agirlikli ogretmen adaylarinin BDE-TO tutum puanlari ile bilgisayar ba§arilari arasinda istatistiksel olarak anlamli ili§kiler belirlenmifir (0.646,p<.05).
