Abstract (2. Language):
Recent studies in resin chemistry have provided the production of new dental composites with advanced physical and mechanic properties. Fiber materials are very functional materials and fber-rennforced compostt (FRC) resin systems contain all advantages of ceramic and poiimer chemistry. Renn forced composites can be considered two main groups according to reinforcement materials. If the reinforcement materia/ is a fiber, it is called FRC. If the reinforcement material is ceramic particules, it is called ceromer. Although FRC are composed of fibers with various structure and shape (glass, carbon, polyethylene, aramid) added into resin matrix; ceromers are hibrit resin composites reinforced with ceramic particules which are called glass poiimers. FRC prosthesis can be prepared either by a dental technician in a dental aaboratuary or by the dentist by charrside. This paper is about the structure and the propertis of FRC prosthesis which are a better alternative for non metallic prosthesis and the advantages, disadvantages, indications, contrindica-tions and the application areas are explained.
