An in vitro dye leakage study was performed to compare the sealing ability of amalgam with Copalitc Diaket, a glass ionomer cement and a zinc phosphate-based cement when used as retrograde filling materials. 63 Extracted human mandibular and maxillary single-rooted teeth were used. Teeth were divided to I'our groups, after their root canals were prepared and hlled. Kach of 3 mm apical root were resected and a 1 mm deep retrograde cavity was prepared. Surfaces of the roots were coated with nail polish. All teeth were immersed in I % methylene blue dye for 72h. The roots were separated and evaluated through a stereomicroscopc. The ability of scaling retrograde filling material used was analysized by variant Tt has been found that the ability of retrograde filling materials displayed significant differences among them with the variant analysis. The difference between zinc phosphate^based cement and three other filling materials regarding to apical leakage were found out to be significant using Duncan multiple range test. It has not, however, been observed any differences among these three materials (amalgam with Copalile, Diaket, a glass ionomer cement and a zinc phosphate-based cement).

Bu çalışmada retrograd dolgu maddesi olarak Copalıte+amalgam, Diaket, bir cam iyonomer simam ve bir çinko fosfat esaslı simanın itkaçlama kabiliyetleri in vıtro şartlarda karşılaştırılmalı olarak incelendi. Bu amaçla 68 çekilmiş maksilier ve mandibulcr tek köklü insan dış; kullanıldı. Dişlerin kanalları hazırlanıp doldurulduktan sonra dört gruba bölündü. Her bir kökün apikal 3 mrn'lik kısmı kesildi ve 2 mm derinliğinde retrograd kavite açıldı. Köklerin yüzeyleri tırnak cilası ile kaplandı. Dişlerin tamamı 72 saatlik bir süre için % İlik metilen mavisi boyasına daldırıldı. Kökler separe edildi ve bir stereomikroskop ile değerlendirildi. Kullanılan retrograd dolgu maddelerinin tıkaçlama kabiliyetleri varyans analizi uygulanmak sureti ile karşılattırıldı. Bu analiz sonucunda kullanılan dolgu maddelerinin ükaçlafna kabüiyetierinin önemli düzeyde farklılık gösterdiği belirlendi- Uygulanan Duncan çoklu karşılaştırma testi samtcutda çinko fosfat simanı ile diğer maddeller arasındaki apikal sızma farkının önemli olduğu, diğer Uç dolgu maddesi arasındaki apikal sızma farkının ise önemli olmadığı bulunda. Bu sonuçlara göre çinko fosfat simanınm diğer maddelerden daha fazla apikal sızmaya maruz kaldığı ortaya çıktt.
