The work reported here examines the effect of psychological birth order on the belief in a just world among university students assessed with a Turkish version of the White-Campbell Psychological Birth Order Inventory (Kalkan, 2005) and a translated version of Dalbert’s Just World Belief Scale (Göregenli, 2003). Participants were randomly selected from several universities located in the different parts of Turkey. The data were analyzed by conducting a one-way between-subjects analysis of variance. The results of this analysis indicated that there is a significant difference between the psychological birth order and the general and personal belief in a just world

Bu çalışmada çocukların aile yapısında kendi konumunu algılaması olarak tanımlanan psikolojik doğum sırasının adil dünya inancı üzerine etkisi araştırılmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışmaya çeşitli üniversitelerde öğrenim gören 354 öğrenci katılmıştır. Psikolojik doğum sırası verileri Türkçeye uyarlaması yapılan White-Campbell Psikolojik Doğum Sırası Envanteri (Kalkan, 2005) ile elde edilmiş, Adil Dünya İnancını ölçmek için ise Türkçeye çevirisi yapılan Dalbert’in Adil Dünya Ölçeği kullanılmıştır (Göregenli, 2003). Araştırma verilerinin analizinde tek yönlü varyans analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular bireylerin psikolojik doğum sıralarına göre adil dünya inancında anlamlı farklılıklar bulunduğunu göstermiştir.
