Abstract (2. Language):
Divine freedom is a concept belonging to the Western Thought. In the Tahâfuts, the problem is not put forward as a problem of freedom. In the Islamic Thought, the problem is expressed generally with the concepts of “mujib bi al-dhât” and “fâ‘il bi al-ihtiyar”. Nevertheless, though the concepts are different, they refer to the same problem. Khodjazade is the first to have studied the problem separately in the Tahâfuts. It is a crucial breakpoint that Khodjazade made a different distinction in the matter as to whether God is a necessity being (al-mûjib) and as to the eternity of universe.

İlahi Hürriyet” kavramı Batı düşüncesine ait bir kavramdır. Tehâfütlerde bu mesele ilahi hürriyet problemi olarak ifade edilmez. İslam düşüncesinde problem genelde “mûcibu’n-bi’z-zât” ve “fâilü’n-bi’l ihtiyar” kavramı ile ifade edilmektedir. Kavramlar farklı olmakla birlikte aynı probleme işaret etmektedir. Problemi Tehâfütlerde ayrı bir mesele olarak ilk inceleyen Hocazade’dir. Tanrı’nın mûcib olup olmadığı meselesi ile âlemin kıdemi meselesinde Hocazade’nin farklı bir ayrıma gitmesi önemli bir kırılma noktasını teşkil etmektedir.
