Abstract (2. Language):
In this study, the effects of three different hemostatic agents in the early stage of healing of experimental bone defects and their biocompatability were compared. Four bone defects were prepared simetrically in Wistar albino rat tibias, aged 4-6 months. Bonewax, spongostan, surgical, were placed in three defects respectively, while the fourth one was allowed to fill with blood to serve as the control. After histopathological evaluation, it was found that surgicel and spongostan were more biocompatible when compared with bonewax. However, it was concluded that all of the materials had negative effects in the early stage oj healing.
