In this research, osteocalcin levels of dentin were measured by a radioimmunoassay in 20 teeth without canes extracted for orthodontic and prosthetic reasons from 20-35 years old patients and 10 teeth with canes, totally 30 molars and premolars. Osteocalcin levels in tlie teeth with caries slightly decreased compared with the teeûı without caries (p<0.05). There were no differences between females and males. No significant differences were detected in the measurement of microhard-tiess between the teeth with and without caries.

Bu çalışmada 20-35 yaşlarındaki kişilerden ortodontik ve protetik nedenlerle çekilen 20 çürüksüz, 10 çürüğü bulunan toplam 30 adet küçük ve büyük azı dişin denlin tabakasında osteokalsin düzeyleri radio im munoas-sava ile saptanmıştır. Çürük dişlerde osteokalsin düzeyleri, çürüksüz dişlere göre azaldı (p<0.05). Kadın ve erkekler arasında fark bulunmadı. Çürük ve çürüksüz dişlerde mikrosertlik ölçümleri arasında bir fark bulunmadı.
