HOLLANDA'DA YAŞAYAN 3-6 YAŞ GRUBU TÜRK ÇOCUKLARINDA TÜKÜRÜKTE MUTANS STREPTOKOKLARI VE LAKTOBASİLLER İLE DİŞ PLAĞINDA MUTANS STREPTOKOK TÜRLERİNİN DAĞILIMI

Abstract (2. Language):
Mutans streptococci and Lactobacili levels in saliva and distribution of mutans species in dental plaque were determined in twenty, 3 to 6year<M Turkish children living in the Netherlands. In addition, three different media (TYC, TYCSB and TSY20B) which serve at'selective mekafor mutans streptococci, were compared for the determination ftESS&r streptococ™ mutans - The higher isolation frequencies in saliva samples indicated that they were more sensitive than plaque samples in detecting mutans streptococci in the oral cavity. Mutans streptococci were discovered in 70 % of the saliva samples and msm No significant differences were found between. S, sobrinus counts on the three different media. S. mutans was the mosi prevalent type in the plaque samples but S. sobrinus was al so isolated. Isolation frequency of S. mutans
