In this study in 20 children aged 7-8 with no caries and missing teeht and good oral hygiene, the efect offissiire sealants on salivary mutans streptococci and lactobacilli was investigated in vivo. Before and after one month fissure sealant application, the number of microorganisms is compared. Fissure sealants had significant effect on the number of mutans streptococci, but no significant effect on the number oj lactobacilli.

Bu çalışma da, fîssür örtücülerin, ağızlarında çürük ve eksik diş bulunmayan iyi ağız hijyenine sahip 7-8 yaşlarında 20 çocukta tükürük mutans streptokokları ve laktobasil sayılan üzerindeki etkileri in vivo koşullarda araştırılmıştır. Fissür örtücü uygulamasından önce ve bir ay sonraki mikroorganizma sayıları karşılaşnrılmış-tır. Fissür örtücüler mutans streptokokları sayısı üzerinde belirgin etkiye sahipken laktobasillerin sayısını etkilememiştir.
