This clinical study was conducted to compare Oie tooth-whitening efficacy of two 10% carbamide peroxide vital bleaching products: Colgate Platinum and Brilliance. Tiventy Jour subjects were divided into two groups and assigned o product to use for 2 weeks. Change in tooth color was determined visually using the Vita shade guide. Each group includedfive patients witii tetracyclinestained teeth, one patient with fluorosis and the rest was having tooth color darker than A3 on the Vita shade guide. The change in tooth color was calculated using the Vita shade guide. The mean shade change was determined 6.42 for Colgate Platinum and 2.75 for Brilliance. Statistical analysis demontsrated that the Colgate product is significantly superior at increasing tooth whiteness (p<0.01).

Bu klinik çalışma, %1Q karbamit peroksit içeren 2 farklı vital beyazlatma ürününün (Colgate Platinum ve Brilliance) dişleri beyazlatma etkinliğinin karşılaştırılması amacıyla düzenlenmiştir. İki gruba ayrılan toplam 24 hastaya, beyazlatma ürünleri 2 hafta süreyle uygulanmıştır. Her 2 grupta da 5'er tetrasildin hastası, l'er flo-rozis hastası yer almakta ve geri kalan hastaları ise Vita porselen ski asına göre en az A3 diş rengine sahip, isteğe bağlı beyazlatma vakaları oluşturmaktadır. Dişlerdeki renk değişimi Vita porselen skalası kullanılarak saptanmıştır. Ortalama renk değişim Colgate Platinum için 6.42, Brilliance için ise 2-75 olarak bulunmuştur. İstatistiksel analiz sonuçları, Colgate Platinum'un dişleri beyazlatma üzerine çok daha üstün olduğunu göstermiştir (p<0.01).
