Abstract (2. Language):
Dcntigcrous cys t is odontogenic lesions which proceed in prevalance the apical cyst.thc most frequent lesions of the jaws, it is associated with and contains the unerupted crown of a tooth. The dentigerous cyst that may expose an asymptomatic development until facial asymmetry and swelling are observed. When untreated, it causes bone loss and block the eruption of the associated tooth and displaces the tooth to abnormal positions in the jaws. Rarely it is found to be located in the maxillary sinus. In this case report, diagnosis of a dentigerous cyst which involved maxillary sinus associated with permanent canine teeth and caused significant bone loss was presented. Treatment modalities comprising marsupialization and subsequently enucleation was performed to prevent the loss of adjacent teeth. Epithelium of dentigerous cycts may show ameloblastic proliferation and transform to ameloblastoma and uncommonly show malign changes and transform to carcinoma in silu, squamous cell carcinoma, epidermoid and mucoepidcrmoid carcinoma. The importance of early diagnosis and management of a dentigerous cyct that may develop asymptomatically and manifest invasion to adjacent anatomical regions as maxillary sinus was emphasized.
