Abstract (2. Language):
In this study, an inversion technique to interpret the vertical magnetic anomalies of arbitrarily magnetized faults is presented. The 2-D algorithm for interpretation of magnetic data presented here is based on selecting of the initial model parameters. The maximum and minimum values of the vertical magnetic anomalies are used to estimate the initial values of the parameters related to the fault model. Approximate values of the model parameters are calculated until the best fitting values are obtained between the observed and calculated anomalies by using Marquardt optimization technique. Validity of the method is tested on theoretical models.
