Abstract (2. Language):
In this paper, we aimed to introduce the level at which the geographical factors have an
effect on the educational status in the province of Amasya. In today’s world of nations, the
population growth rates are of great importance. Population density has a significant impact
on the societies’ on-going struggle for survival. Naturally, besides the population growth rates,
the qualifications and especially the educational status of the population have a crucial role.
While the educational status of the population determines the pace of development, it exhibits
the level of sophistication of a nation as well. The flow of the students through the educational
grades and particularly the literacy are among the points that should be elaborately examined.
The geographical conditions are precisely the major agents which influence the educational
statistics of the population in all aspects. This study elaborates on the main geographical
conditions effecting the education of the population in Amasya.

Bu çalışmamızda Amasya ilinde eğitim durumu üzerinde coğrafi faktörlerin etkisinin hangi
düzeyde olduğunu ortaya koymaya çalışılmıştır. Günümüz dünyasında milletlerin nüfuslarının
artış oranları büyük önem taşımaktadır. Nüfus miktarları, dünya toplumları arasında süregelen
amansız var olma mücadelesinde asla göz ardı edilmeyecek bir etkiye sahiptir. Elbette nüfusun
artış oranının yanında nüfusun nitelikleri, özellikle de nüfusun eğitim durumunun ayrı bir önemi
vardır. Nüfusun eğitim durumu, toplum kalkınmasının hızını belirlerken, toplumların gelişmişlik
düzeyini de ortaya koyar. Başta okuryazarlık olmak üzere, eğitim kademeleri arasındaki öğrenci
akışı da üzerinde hassasiyetle durulması gereken konulardandır. Bir coğrafyada nüfusun eğitim
istatistiklerini her bakımdan etkileyen en önemli etkenler tereddütsüz coğrafi koşullardır. Bu
çalışmamızda Amasya ilinde yapılan eğitim faaliyetleri üzerinde baskın olan coğrafi koşullar
ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.
