Abstract (2. Language):
This paper studies the casualty rates of the II Gulf War which is considered as the a postmodern war and the first war of the 21st century.
II Gulf War is examined in two phases: the dates between 20 March 2003 and 1 May 2003 is considered as the first phase, from 1 May 2003 to today is thought as the second phase. Cause and effects of each phase is studied in both qualitative and quantitative aspects, as well as the procedures and the size of casualties caused by the Iraq resistance fighters to Coalition Forces.

Bu çalışmada; yirmi birinci yüzyılın ilk harbi ve “postmodern savaş” olarak tanımlanan II nci Irak Harekâtı ve harekât süresince oluşan zayiatın değerlendirilmesi yapılmaktadır.
II nci Irak Harekâtı, 20 Mart 2003 ve 1 Mayıs 2003 tarihleri arası I nci evre; 1 Mayıs 2003’ten günümüze kadar gelen ve halen devam eden II nci evre olarak iki ayrı safhada değerlendirilmiştir. Her evrede verilen zayiatların sebep - sonuç ilişkileri nitel ve nicel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Asimetrik etkilerin yoğun olarak yaşandığı bu savaşta, Irak’taki direnişçilerin “Koalisyon Kuvvetleri”ne verdirdiği zayiatların yöntem ve boyutları üzerinde durulmuştur.
