Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this study is to evaluate the rate of breastfeeding and alterations of it due to age, social and educational statues of the mothers. 2 JO mothers were interviewed in Mother- Child Care Center in İsparta, Turkey. 151 non-smoker mothers who had healthy infants were evaluated for this study. They were asked about their status, ages and jobs (housewife or not). They were also asked about weaning period. Most of them were housewives who graduated from primary schools. The mothers who had never breastfed, were also the same. The ratio of breastfeeding is much more in the well-educated and high socio-economical group. Identifying the ratios of breastfeeding can guide us for the breastfeeding policy and. also for educating the mothers. In the low-outcome group, we can make the ratio higher by educating them. In many studies, these were shown. In our study, the results show that, in well- educated and high social group breastfeeding rate is high, too. These results are nearly the same as in other countries. If low socioeconomical group can be educated, children will get sufficient amount of lactation, so that, morbidity and mortality can be reduced.Abstract (Original Language):
Bu çalışmanın amacı, sağlıklı çocukları olan ve sigara içmeyen annelerde anne sütü verme eğiliminin yaş, eğitim düzeyi, sosyo-ekonomik düzey ve mesleğe göre dağılımını yapmaktır. İsparta Ana-Çocuk Sağlığı ve Aile Planlaması (AÇSAP) Merkezine Mart-Nisan 2000 tarihleri arasında başvuran 210 annenin arasından sigara içmeyen ve sağlıklı çocuğu olan 151 anneyle görüşüldü. Hepsinin eğitim durumu, sosyo-ekonomik düzeyi, mesleği, çocuk sayısı araştırıldı. Anne sütü verme eğiliminin bu parametrelere göre dağılımı yapıldı. 151 annenin 90 tanesi ilkokul mezunu ve II7'si ev ilanımı idi. 20-29 yaş arası anne sayısı 10/, 30-39 yaş arası 43, 40 yaş üstü anne sayısı ise 7 idi. Çoğu anne sosyo-ekonomik düzeyini orta olarak tanımladı. 1-2 çocuğu olan anne sayısı 112, 3-4 çocuğu olan anne sayısı ise 39 olarak belirlendi. Anne sütü verme eğiliminin eğitim düzeyi, sosyo-ekonomik düzey, yaş ve mesleğe göre değişip değişmediğini araştırdık. Tüm dünyada bu tür çalışmalar yapılarak, daha fazla anne sütü verifebilmesinin yolları araştırılmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın daha ayrıntılı çalışmalar için yol. gösterici olacağını umuyoruz.
