Abstract (2. Language):
Aging is an inevitable and continuous process with a variable spectrum of manifestations of all organ systems including the skin. Aging skin undergoes progressive degenerative change. Dermatoses such as xerozis, pruritus, egzema, psoriasis and skin tumours are widespread in the elderly and create substantial suffering in those afflicted. It is not uncommon for older patients to have multiple impair¬ments, with the potential for cognitive dysfunction as well as impaired vision, hearing or mobility. Management of dermatologic disorders in the elderly is often neglected, due to special needs, lim¬itations, skin fragility, comorbidities, polypharmacy, lack of mobility and lack of social support. In this review, we aim to raise the family practitioners awareness about geriatric skin diseases.
Abstract (Original Language):
Yaşlanma, bütün organ sistemlerinde farklı belirtilere yol açan kaçınılmaz bir süreçtir. Yaşlanan deride ilerleyici dejenerasyon meydana gelir. Yaşlılarda ciddi ızdırap oluşturan , kserozis, egzema, psoriazis, deri tümörleri yaygındır. Yaşlılar için görme, duyma, hareket sorunları yanında potansiyel bilişsel işlev bozuklukları ile birden fazla özür olması nadir değildir. Yaşlılarda deri hastalıklarının yönetimi bu yaş grubunun özel ihtiyaçları, kısıtlılıkları, cilt kırılganlığı, başka hastalık¬ların varlığı, çok sayıda ilaç kullanma, hareket azlığı, sosyal destek kaybı ve fark edilmeme nedenleriyle sıklıkla yetersizdir. Bu derleme, aile hekiminin yaşlıdaki cilt hastalıkları hakkındaki farkındalığını ar¬tırmayı amaçlamaktadır.
