Abstract (2. Language):
The purpose of this study is to identify first grade high school students’ performance in using different representations of the function concept. To do end, a questionnaire linked to the function concept was administered to 229 first grade high school students. In this paper, only results of the analysis of students’ answers to three questions are presented. The results of this study revealed that the students were more successful with the algebraic representations of functions compared to graph and verbal. They were not able to translate within and among multiple representations of the function concept.
