In this study the university adjustment levels, academic, social, emotional, individual relations levels and relations with opposite gender level were investigated in terms of participation to socio-cultural activities. The sample consists of 416 university students. Students' academic adjustment, social adjustment, emotional adjustment, individual adjustment, adjustment to relations with opposite gender and university adjustment levels were measured by " University Life Scale. " The data were analyzed with t-test technique. Data handled in this research had shown that students' who were participated to socio-cultural activities, academic adjustment, social adjustment, emotional adjustment, individual adjustment, relations adjustment with opposite gender and university adjustment levels were higher than students'who were not actively participated to socio-cultural activities. The findings were discussed in the light of literature.

Bu araştırmada Orıdokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi'ne bağlı çeşitli fakültelerin birinci sınıflarında öğrenim gören öğrencilerin sosyokültürel etkinliklere katılım durumuna göre; akademik, sosyal, duygusal, kişisel, karşı cinsle ilişkiler ve üniversite ortamına uyum düzeylerinin değişip değişmediği incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemi,4 yıllık fakültelerin 1.sınıflarına devam eden ve Oranlı Küme Örnekleme Yöntemi ile belirlenen 416 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Öğrencilerin akademik, sosyal, duygusal, kişisel, karşı cinsle ilişkilerde ve üniversite ortamına uyum düzeyleri Aladağ,Kağnıcı,Tuna ve Tezer(2003) tarafından geliştirilen "Üniversite Yaşamı Ölçeği" ile ölçülmüştür. Verilerin analizinde t-testi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular; aktif olarak sosyo-kültürel etkinliklere katılan öğrencilerin akademik, sosyal, duygusal, kişisel, karşı cinsle ilişkiler ve üniversite ortamına uyum düzeylerinin, katılmayan öğrencilere göre daha yüksek olduğunu göstermektedir. Elde edilen bulgular literatür ışığında tartışılmıştır.
