Abstract (2. Language):
Having started to be offered by Turkish universities as an alternative to traditional education, Distance Education programs are becoming increasingly important with the high number of students enrolled in them. It is anticipated that Distance Education will serve even greater numbers of students in the near future. This study examines the demographic characteristics of 264 volunteer students who were attending the Web Technologies and Programming, Computer Technologies and Programming, Business Administration, Knowledge Management, and Accountancy Departments of Gazi University's Atatürk Vocational School, Distance Education Program during the fall semester of 2008-2009. In addition to the demographics, students' reasons for choosing Distance Education, their expectations and post-graduation goals were also examined.
