Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) are initiatives that were established in the USA with the aim of solving the personal issues of employees who have alcoholism problems. The basis behind this act is to win the problematic but experienced personnel back through professional care. As the range of EAPs widen within years, these programs started to be adopted by other countries as well. In this study, literature about the definition, procedures, coverage areas and the evaluation of EAPs is analysed. The very recent developments in Turkey, on this subject which has no resources in Turkish, are examined and suggestions for the future are presented.

Çalışan Destek Programları (ÇDP) ilk olarak ABD’de alkol bağımlısı iş görenlerin kişisel sorunlarını çözmek, tecrübeli çalışanları kişisel sorunları dolayısıyla kaybetmemek adına tedavi ederek tekrar örgüte kazandırmak amacıyla kurulmuş örgüt içi organizasyonlardır. ÇDP’lerin kapsamının yıllar içinde genişlemesiyle bu programlar başka ülkelere de yayılmıştır. Çalışmada ÇDP’lerin tanımı, prosedürleri, kapsadığı konular ve değerlendirilmeleri hususunda bir literatür taraması yapılmıştır. Türkçe olarak henüz kaynağın bulunmadığı bu konuda Türkiye’deki çok yeni girişimler incelenmiş ve geleceğe dair öneriler sunulmuştur.
