Abstract (2. Language):
Even though identifying the causes of economic growth has been the subject of numerous empirical studies, little is known about the impact of unionist movements on differences in the process of economic growth between the countries. Besides, there is still no consensus on how unions affect a state's economy. Therefore, in this study the impact of unionist movements on economic growth in 33 OECD countries from 1970 to 2011 is examined by using panel data analysis. The results of the analysis show that there are both cointegration and causality relationship between the unionist movements and economic growth. In addition, it is found that an increase in unionist movements would impact the process of economic growth negatively.
