Abstract (2. Language):
Automated blood culture systems have been used for the detection of bacteremia and fungemia. In this study, we compared BacT/Alert blood culture system and conventional culture methods for culture of sterile body fluids other than blood. A total of 91 specimens were tested including pleural, peritoneal, synovial and cerebrospinal fluids. Of the isolates considered clinicaly significant, 18 (95 %) were recovered by BacT/Alert system while only 11 (58%) were recovered by conventional culture methods.
Abstract (Original Language):
BacT/Alert kan kültür sistemiyle anlamlı üremelerin 18'i (%95) saptanırken, klasik kültür yöntemiyle sadece (%58) saptanabilmiştir.
