Abstract (2. Language):
Clinical and laboratory evaluation of patients with Craniopharyngioma. In this study we eva-luated 38 patients (16 women/ 22 men) admitted to our elinic, and craniopharyngioma was proved histologicaliy. Themean age was 31.24 + 15.42 years (12-73). The mean follow-up pe-riod of 29 patients were 79,55 ± 59,66 (12-228) months. Headache was the chief complaİnt. Tumor was localized in sella in 26.1 % of the patients, supraseliar regİon in 26.1 % and, exten-ding from sella to supraseliar rcgion in 13 % of the patients. In 21.7 % of patients tumor had eystic strueture. Surgical removal of the tumor was performed İn 22 (57.89%) patients, and ad-juvant radiotherapy in 9 (23.68%) of the patieiits. An primary modc of treatment radiolherapy was performed in 1, aspiratİon of the eyst in 2, and intracystic yttrium-90 iınplantation in 3 of the patients. Endocrİnologic deficiencies were inevİtablc after ali of the treatment modalİtİcs. Panhypopİtuitarism was detecled in 33% to 63% of the patients according to the treatment mo-dalities. Recurrence rate was 10,5% (4 cases). In conelusion the treatment modality seems to depend on the mass of the tumor and cndocrinologic deficiencies are unavoidable.
