In this research our aim is the evaluation of the treated soft tissue profile changes according to Holdoway s analysis with the functional appliances. Investigation has been carried on 40 patients having Class H, Division 1 malocclusion. Ten of these selected patients have been treated with Trankel's functional regulator (FR- lb) and the other ten with Baiters Bionator (Type 1). A group qf20 individuals who have the same orthodontic malocclusion and not having any treatment served as control group. The treatment and the control groups at the beginning and at the end of the two years period evaluated statistically by the lateral cephalometric radiographs. The results showed little differences on soft tissue profile changes between two functional appliances.

Bu çalışmada, fonksiyonel apareyierte yapılan tedavi sonucu yumuşak doku profil değişikliklerinin Hotdaway analizine göre değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, 40 birey üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir, lskelctset ve dişset sınıf II, bölüm 1 ortodontik düzensizliğe sahip hastalar arasından seçilen bireylerden lOu Frankel'in fonksiyon düzenleyicisi (FR lb), diğer 10'u İse Baiters Bionator'u (Tip I) ite tedavi edilmiştir. Tedavi gruplan, 20 bireyden oluşan aynı ortodontik düzensizliğe sahip vc hiç tedavi görmemiş bir kontrol grubu ite karşılaşUntmıştır. Tedavi ve kontrol gruplan için 2 yıllık periyodun başlangıç ve bitiminde alınan uzak röntgen filmleri üzerinde tedavi değişiklikleri bioistatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar yumuşak doku profili üzerine etkileri açısından iki fonsiyonet aparey arasında büyük farklılıklar olmadığını ortaya koymuştur.
